Andres' recent work intermingles seemingly incompatible materials and energies; from living species such as plants and micro-organisms; from electronic media such as radio waves, electrons, and photons, into the form of installations and performances. Many of the works decompose, gradually breakdown, or synthesize to encourage compositional transitions. Her works are typically unstable, alive and difficult to categorize, invested in questions surrounding duration, forms of encounter, and the residue or document of the artwork. Andres’ work has been exhibited at the Eastern Bloc, Montréal, Science Gallery, Dublin (with the Grafting Parlour), M:ST 4 and 4.5 Performance Art Festival, Calgary, Free Radio Banff, Walter Phillips Gallery, Banff, Outpost for Contemporary Art, LA, Galerie Babel, Norway, Latitude 53, Edmonton, CONFLUX 2007, New York, The Southern Alberta Art Gallery and Trianon Gallery, Lethbridge. Andres is currently based in Montréal.
